Dream Log 4.30

The Context:

I’ll keep the context short here. I have been watching a lot of the TV show Heroes on Netflix right before bed recently.

The Dream:

Because this dream is more vague than usual at this point I am just going to mention some of the key things.

At one point, I was getting ready for something at a large mansion sort of house. I don’t know what I was getting ready for but I remember needing to look presentable and I choose to where all black, but I had trouble locating the right pieces of clothing.

There were animals, cats and dogs, in a room there. One kitten was a bit crippled but she was running around a lot. Eventually they were all laying down in a big cat/dog snuggle pile.

Then there was the drink and her and him and some other force. There may have been debate on who would take the drink, the poison. They (the guy and gal) were it and I let them drink it. But when they were gone, I took the remaining poison as well.

At that point I remember being more sluggish like the poison was acting in my system to slow me down but not necessarily kill me. I wanted that to happen though and knew it would come. The other force was meant to do the killing. I don’t know if it was just Death or something evil, but it had needed some sort of sacrifice.

Chaos broke loose after that. I searched through the people to find the guy and woman who took the rest of the drought. Mostly I was looking for her. I knew something went wrong and I had to fix something. Even if I wanted to die before I couldn’t now. I had to fix whatever happened.

The Commentary:

The feeling of the dream sticks more than the actual details. I don’t know if anything got resolved in the dream or not. That was the little bit I remembered. The drink with the poison especially and them being gone and I drank the rest.

The woman was familiar. Someone I knew from this life. My old girlfriend, I think. I also remember seeing an old friend from high school that I never speak to anymore. I don’t know who the guy was or the other force in the dream. The other force eventually had a form towards the end but the details were so vague I didn’t write them down. The guy was at least a little familiar but not enough to point out who from my life he is.

Someone, the guy (?), may have been mad with me for taking the poison too. There are these vague impressions from the dream that pop up as I type and I think I remember now someone realizing I took the poison and being upset with me. But I didn’t care. Not until the end when I knew I had to do something to fix things.

A dream to ponder.

Maya’s Weekly Tarot (In the Car) 4.27

I forgot to do this last night so I did it when I got to work in my car. Took the picture in my car as well so you can see a lovely picture of my weekly tarot.

What is the next step in my path this week?

Three of Swords – Grief and heartbreak. Feelings of loneliness, separation, and isolation. Overcome pain. The weeping heart is a necessary cleansing. Let the torment drain away and be purified by it. – It almost looks like I may need to take a moment and do some shadow work this week and focus on some cleansing of my emotions.

What obstacles/challenges will there be?

Ace of Swords – It is the double-edged sword that can be wielded for truth and justice or for raw strength and rage. Something is about to begin that will force the blade to slice one way or the other. – There are two sides to this situation that can turn out fine or not so much. I just have to be careful of which way the blade swings this week.

What advice is there to overcome this obstacle?

Six of Wands – It symbolizes victory and triumph. One has prevailed and overcome their obstacles to come out on top. Beware of falling prey to hubris and becoming lost in self-importance. – I almost feel like this is indicating that regardless of the way the blade swings it still will be a triumph, except in the case of letting ego rule me. I need to make sure I keep that in check this week.

Knot-Work Devotion Bracelet

I finally finished my “friendship” bracelet I started a few weeks ago. Here are a few pictures for you.

I’m going to leave it on my altar tonight and relight some of my candles for Lugh and the Morrigan to charge it fully and everything. May say some words, may not.

I had extra thread left over so I used that to make two more braided strands. One I tied on my kitty as an extra collar. The other I thought about using a s sort of witches ladder but I don’t entirely know what to knot into it right now so I decided to use it to replace the chain on my onyx point pendant since the chain is a little wonky.

I enjoy this kind of work with my hands, like knot-work, needlepoint, and knitting. It can be very therapeutic and all. I often start humming while I and doing it, little inconsequential tunes. I don’t know what the the songs are I hum or if they help with the process or add more magic to things, I just do it.

It is all actually quite fitting that I enjoy it. One of my psychic abilities relates to thread-work. I can sense energy through my fingertips. I sense the energy as if they were threads or strings that are there that I can pluck and the vibrations can give me information psychically. So, yeah. It is comforting to work with threads. 🙂

Making a Fairy Door

For Mother’s Day I decided to make my mom a Fairy Door. She mentions it here and there so I thought this year would be a good time to make one for her.

I wanted to do this as a process post so anyone who comes across this can make one themselves if they wanted to. So here it goes.

Items Needed:

  • paint (whatever colors you want to paint the door)
  • paintbrushes (I used a few different ones)
  • the door (this can be bought at Michael’s like the one I have or made from clay or cardboard in the shape you want)
  • white gesso (optional – the door I bough was really smooth and I wasn’t sure how well the paint would stick on its own so I used the gesso first)
  • glitter (optional)
  • decorative items (e.g. scrapbooking materials like brads or other things. For mine I found butterfly shaped brads, a round button shaped set of brads, glittery gold swirl brads, and scrapbook stickies for the corner of pictures.)
  • hot glue or superglue
  • scissors

Step 1:

  • Lay out newspaper to protect your work surface.
  • Paint a layer of gesso on all sides of the door. (This is optional. I did it because I wanted to make sure the paint would stick.)

  Step 2:

  • Paint any desired sigils on the back of the door, if desired. I used a Faery/Elven Star here because I wanted to make sure it invited fairies and nice fairy creatures through it. I used black and green as seen in the next two pictures since black is protective and green is often for prosperity, luck, and heavily associated with fairies.

(sorry this second picture was blurry)

Step 3:

  • Paint the door a base color. I used black here because I wanted to do a little dry brushing effect to see the “grain” under the final color.
  • Paint it a few times and make sure it dries between or you may get weird patches of less paint.
  • I then added a bit of glitter (aka pixie dust) to be more inviting to pixies, fae, and other fairy creatures.

  • Do the same to the front side as well.

  Step 4:

  • Now paint the top color. I chose red here because I love red, my parents front door is red, and it is also associated to the fairy kingdom to me.
  • I used a second dry brush to take away some of the excess paint to give it a grain look like you would see in real wood.
  • I also had another smaller brush to get in those crevices on the front of the door.
  • Then I added more glitter to the front, this time not covering in more paint. Be sure to add this while the paint is still a bit wet.

Step 5:

  • Place your decorative items around the door in the way you like. You can place them before the final coat of paint if you wish but I wanted mine to stick out in their actual color.
  • I placed the corner pieces first and used hot glue to get them to stick better. Super glue could probably work too, I just had hot glue on hand.

  • I then placed my other decorative stickies with hot glue.

  • Then I placed short lines of hot glue and placed the swirl brads into place. (With the brads, be sure to cut off the metal bits with scissors or bending before you place them to they lay flat and don’t have parts sticking out.) If you do too much hot glue along the edge it will dry before you place all the pieces, so a little at a time is best.
  • I place a round shaped brad for the door but left the other parts there because it gave the effect of a full handle rather than just a round thing. Plus it allowed the handle to stick out like an actual door knob.
  • Finally I placed the butterfly brads. Some I removed the extra metal and some I left the extra bits on. This gives it more of the effect of them flying around rather than just sitting there.

Here is the finished piece. ^^^^

You might also consider using another paint or varnish to seal the paint more so that if it is used outdoors it won’t get yucky after the first rain. I figured this one to be more of an indoor one so I didn’t do that (plus I didn’t have any varnish to do it either).

So there is my very crappy, rough tutorial on how I made my fairy door. I should also mention while making it, or afterwards, to call any fae, pixies, elves, and other fairy creatures to come and bless it too so that it works and only invites the helpful variety in. If you know some it helps, but if not, leaving little offerings may help as well.

Hopefully my mom will like it. Still a few more weeks until I can give it to her. 😛

Laying Out the Cards: A Look at My Divination Collection

I decided to pull out all my divination things the other days because I had the urge to look through them and use something. I decided to lay them all out and take a picture of them instead of really doing any divination though. So here is a picture of all my divination supplies.

So from left to right: my black scrying magic mirror I made a few months back, a cherry quartz point that I got to act as a scrying crystal but don’t really use as such but I figured I’d still put it here, a smooth piece of flat rainbow obsidian for scrying, lapis runes, silver and gold painted clay witches’ runes, a pendulum cloth with two pendulums (quartz and labradorite), a dark labradorite crystal sphere for scrying and  mostly focused on past life scrying, a small onyx/mother of pearl pendant to scry with as well (I have a lot of scrying related things but I don’t often do it >.<), Magical Times empowerment oracle cards, Wisdom of Hidden Realms oracle cards, Magical Unicorns oracle cards, Magical Messages from Fairy oracle cards, Voices of the Saints oracle cards, Heart of Faerie oracle, Goddess Inspiration oracle cards, Crystal Wisdom oracle, Medicine Cards, Cup of Destiny tea leaf reading cup, Robin Wood tarot, Shadowscapes tarot, Deviant Moon tarot, Legacy of the Divine tarot, Revelations tarot, two generic learning tarot decks (one big and one little), and my Lenormand deck.

I only have seven tarot decks, so that isn’t too bad. The primary deck there that I use is Shadowscapes for my own personal readings but whenever I do readings for others I usually use the Revelations tarot because it has double images for reversed and upright meanings which makes things much easier to read. My oldest deck is in the blue knitted bag with the flap. It is quite large and difficult to shuffle but it was my first deck.

Oh no! I just realized I left a deck out. I have eight decks. One is a really tiny miniature deck of dragons. I have that in another bag to take around since it is so small and easy to carry.

I have a lot more oracle decks it seems than tarot. The Voices of the Saints is another deck I have had for quite a long time. Being raised Catholic and having gone to a Catholic college I figured having the saint cards would be a good addition to my collection.

I also have one other pendulum that is for Reiki work and another set of painted stone runes I made, but I did not include them since I had the lapis runes instead. My Reiki pendulum is just for doing work related to healing instead of general divination so that is why I didn’t include that here.

Anyway. Since I took the picture I figured I would show off my collection.

There are still quite a few Tarot decks and oracle cards I would love to get my hands on, but I think I have a pretty solid collection already.

Maya’s Weekly Tarot 4.20

(Note: This was done on mobile so stuff isn’t as in depth and rambling as I often am when I work on a computer.)

What is the next step in my path this week?

VII The Chariot – triumph over obstacles, focusing intent and will, maintaining discipline, control being exercised in an ever changing environment – It may be time to focus on my goals this week and maintain some discipline for myself.

What obstacles may get in my way this week?

Ace of Swords – something is beginning, double-edged sword welding truth and justice but also rage and force, which way will the axe swing – This week’s obstacle may involve dealing with a double-edged sword in my life.

Advice in overcoming obstacles?

King of Pentacles – he is the king of the material world, golden touch, strength and stability, generosity – I may need to balance some more of my material world practice this week to balance out the double-edged sword that is swinging in. This may help in maintaining discipline in my practice.

Three Evenings with Cerridwen’s Cauldron

While I did do a Tarot reading for what work I am to be doing with Cerridwen I really didn’t interpret it fully because I got distracted. I asked for confirmations though to make sure things were happening or whatever. I have a tendency to compound multiple signs on beings I work with to confirm that they are there and everything else. This time I chose three separate symbols.

First sign I asked for was pigs. Another was bears. And the third was charity. I don’t often see pigs where I live, or on my dash for that matter. However, I got quite a few after I started complaining that Cerridwen wasn’t very good at sending signs. But it was still just pigs so I insisted that I needed to see bears and charity as well. I did get quite a few bears show up then too.

Charity was a little harder, but it came in time and while I didn’t think of it at first, my roommate had invited me to do the Race for the Cure this weekend with her, which is obviously charity.

Anyway, the confirmations are not the point of this post. I just felt it was necessary to mention that I did some confirmation work with Cerridwen. What I really want to talk about is the actual work Cerridwen is having me do with her.

Our work was broken up into three evenings. Each evening was set up as different stage to the process. While I don’t usually work within the confines of specific myths nor do I work through any being’s mythos as a journey, this work with Cerridwen has been set up that way.

Each was set up like a journey meditation. Granted, some nights I fell asleep in the process, I am aware of the work we did in the astral for this, initiation as it were. These past three evenings have been a necessary part of the task as they occurred at the new moon, a time of new beginnings. Hence why the Morrigan was insistent I work with Cerridwen this week so I could get this, whatever it is, done on time. Continue reading
