I wanted to show off my newly cleaned altar. It has been a bit cluttered and I had little desire to clean it up until today. Which I find funny because I have started getting a bit of a cold and I have the desire to clean up my altar when I am sick. I will roll with it.
I removed quite a few of the candles I had up there because that was one reason it was cluttered. The other reason was my crystals sitting around so I cleaned up a bunch of those (putting away the ones that I am not using but don’t want to get rid of) and just overall decluttered it. Though, by no means is it completely clutter free. I could still use to put some things away that I am not using as often.
This is the first thing I have had a desire to do on my path recently save some bits of divination here and there. I have had some meditation/conversations with a few spirits I work with but overall I have been at a standstill again. They are a bit more frequent than they used to be, but hopefully the altar care will get things flowing again and get me interested in actually doing something again with the Morrigan and the rest. 😛
I got some great finds at the GeoFest gem and mineral show at our state museum this weekend. I am super happy because of them. Super tons of thanks to my roommate Meritinpu because she actually helped point out most of them for me. 😛
I wanted to share them with you all and mention which ones are which. ^_^
These above two pictures are of the same two stones are both Jaspers. The one of the left (of both pictures) is Ocean Jasper and the one on the right is Kambaba Jasper which is also called Crocodile Jasper. I sorta picked both of these for Manannán mac Lir since one is obviously ocean related 😛 and the other still reminds me of him too. I really liked the piece of Ocean Jasper because it has two different colored sides. Both stones are actually very related to peace and tranquility and are good for meditation.
These two (from left to right) are Bog-wood and Shamanic Dream Stone (aka Lodolite aka Garden Quartz). Bog-wood is fossilized trees and such. Grabbed this one for Gerarian because it’s bog and wood…and…bog of eternal stench and that sort of thing. The Dream Stone necklace is because my tarot card pull yesterday was The Moon and it made me think I need to go find a stone for either dreams or a moonstone. Roommie found this one along with the bog-wood stone and yeah. Had to get it. Lodolite can help with communication with higher planes, grounding or connecting to the Earth, or connecting with dreams and vision quests. I look forward to playing with this one more.
Here is my new Rainbow Obsidian sphere and a pretty little Boulder Opal bracelet. I am so in love with this sphere by the way. It has a pretty eye spot and it vibrates pretty and makes me happy. So yeah, clearly it was calling me. 😛 It is a good size too and will be good for scrying I think. 😀 The bracelet is quite pretty. The middle stone is the Boulder Opal and then the other stones are Bronzite and Kyanite. Bronzite is good for protection, grounding and relieving indecision. Kyanite is good for communication, meditation, and psychic abilities. And Boulder Opal combines earth and fire energy and is great for spiritual things.
So yeah. I am quite happy.

I started a witchcraft for teachers series since I am a teacher and a witch I thought it would be a fun way to combine mine “mundane teaching life” with my witchy life. My first spell or charm I wrote up was to make a charm bag for grading motivation. I finally got around to finishing my charm bag last night so here are pictures and such.
Here is the link for my original post for the how to make one: http://trthsprk8.tumblr.com/post/129878452382/mayas-witchcraft-for-teachers-series-charm-bag
I also created a sigil to use for my personal charm bag and made the bag myself (rather than purchasing one). The sigil is repeating the idea of being motivated and productive while grading and I stitched it into two pieces of fabric that get me motivated and productive (yellow and orange).
The outside of the pouch and my backstiched sigil design.
I decided orange would be for the inside of the pouch so here is the backside of my sigil stitchings.
I then sewed up the edges so that I could create the pouch effect. I used a long straight stitch that I pulled to give the puckering effect.
You can see my sigil writing notes on this one.
I can see its insides!
So I sat on my bag for a couple weeks because I needed to get my crystals and charms (which I ended up not finding/using anyway). Last night I finally got around to picking up my crystals so I figured I’d cleanse those and get my herbs and such mixed and added in.
If I remember correctly, I used cinnamon, orange peels, citrus green tea, peppermint tea, whole cloves, and rosemary as my dry ingredients. Crystals were carnelian, ruby, clear quartz, and citrine. And then I added a drop or two of rosemary, cedarwood, and cinnamon oil. Mixed that all together and dumped it into the bag and wrapped and sewed it all up.
Finished and filled bag.
As the final touches I did charge it and say a few words to help place the energy into and everything.
Now I am ready to get grading to the final weeks of the semester and beyond! Yay!
Since I mentioned my prayer beads in the previous post, I figured it would make sense to show them off.
I used garnet, hematite, amethyst, red tigers eye, and onyx for the sets of nine. I used bloodstone for the spacers. And for the five beads between the raven skull bead and the triskele spacer bead, I used one lava stone and a bloodstone as the large beads. Then one garnet, one opal, and one onyx. Their all beads that relate or remind me of something about the Morrigan. Red crystals especially. 🙂
And, as a bonus, my witchy craft box I finished painting. I want to use it as sort of a witchcraft-to-go box with some essentials for basic magic. I have some ogham on the sides for the Morrigan’s name and for Lugh’s name. So I have been crafty lately. Need to continue being crafty. 🙂
